The range of extra-curricular activities that we offer are a major strength of Edwalton Primary School. We believe that a varied and challenging program of clubs broaden and develop children’s social, emotional and physical health, as well as building confidence, well-being and creativity, helping to form well-rounded individuals.
Some clubs remain consistent throughout the school year such as Eco-club, School Council, Animal Club and Choir.
Other clubs we hold give children the opportunity to try a wide range of activities. They vary throughout the year and can include
Football
Rugby
Table Tennis
Golf
Netball
Athletics
Cross Country
Dance
Lego
Chess
Recorders
Hockey
On the Stage
Samba
Freedom Factory
Some clubs are for certain year groups and run at a particular time of year - there's something for everyone. When a club is arranged, letters are passed to any children who indicate an interest via their class teacher. Please encourage your child to get involved!
Residential Trips
Year 4 and Year 6 have the opportunity to go on a residential trip. Here's what our Year 6 children had to say about their recent visit to Dearne Valley, Yorkshire:
“I liked the residential because it was a great time to bond with teachers.”
“The residential was great because I got to share a dorm with my mates and the zip line was really fun.”
“I liked the residential because it helped me conquer my fear of heights when we did the high ropes. I learnt a lot about Mr Graney because he talked to everyone.”
“My favourites activity on the residential was the high ropes and zip wire because I got over my fear of heights.”
“I loved the residential because we did lots of things that made me face my fears.”
A few memories our Year 6 will hold dear and treasure for years to come.
